Tera-Light Mini Silver with hidden fero rod

This compact fire piston is one of my favorites. It's slightly more difficult to ignite an ember than with its larger siblings (harder to get the right grip around the cylinder), but its smaller size and lighter weight make it perfect for my every-day-carry kit. And, it's so amazingly easy to clean the cylinder and remove rogue char cloth or tinder bits that got stuck! The Tera-Light Mini II's hidden ferro rod makes it even better for EDC or emergency fire kit, as there's no need to pack an extra ferro rod. I used a length of old bicycle inner tube cut to fit and sewn on one end to make a pouch for this so it doesn't rattle as much in my pocket or EDC kit. With the right size tube, you could probably fit some charclith and jute fiber in a small ziplock bag for a compact all-in-one fire kit.

I was hoping this was as small as the mini fero-light, it's not, but still very compact. I also use a hard surface instead of my hands to compress it. It lit the first time and every time after. I love fire pistons!

The fire piston is extremely compact and fits well in pocket. However, I had some difficulty getting it to work between my hands. I had to find a hard surface and really smash it hard to light the char cloth. Otherwise, it appears to be a solid product.
